This is the Raised Leg downward facing dog pose.

It helps the brain relax and relieving as well as helps energize the body. The arms, shoulders, hamstrings and calf are also stretched in the process. It has a slimming effect on arms and legs. Its benefits also include strengthening the nerves and muscles in the limbs and back.

Beginners might find this pose a little challenging!

While on this pose, your mind could focus on the whole movement, makes it difficult to drift away. I find this pose a good practice when you are in a stressful situation. The pose itself helps to bring your mind into a ground hold hence you force yourself away from the stressful situation.

Again, mindfulness practice is not a single set of rule for everyone. It’s the realisation from it that counts.

I have been reading a booked called ‘A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled Mind‘ by Ruby Wax. It’s a book full of wisdom on mindfulness and so much fun to read the same time!

Give it a read and let me know what you think please!
